Homemade ubtan remedies for dark spots

Ubtan, Even if you have never had the opportunity to use it, you must have heard of ubtan. This is a wonderful skincare ingredient that is very commonly used in Indian households in their skincare regimen.

From time immemorial, ubtan has been used as a cleanser. When there were no soaps to wash away dirt, people would use ubtan.

It is a natural combination prepared with an array of herbs, spices, and other natural ingredients. The herb has been part of Ayurveda systems for its many therapeutic effects, including skin rejuvenation. Ubtan is a safe option so it is free of all harmful chemicals and retained for all skin types.

What is ubtan ?


Ubtan constitutes a south Asian traditional skincare approach concocted from natural ingredients such as turmeric, chickpea flour, and herbs. It is used for cleaning, exfoliation, and skin brightening. It finds usage largely in India as part of the classical pre-wedding ceremonies.

2 tbsp turmeric powder

2 tbsp chickpea flour (besan)

1 tbsp raw milk

A few drops of rosewater

How to use?
Combine the turmeric powder and chickpea flour in a bowl.
Add raw milk and stir until a paste is formed.
Add a few drops of rosewater for a refreshing scent.
Apply this ubtan to your face and body, allowing it to dry for 15 to 20 minutes.
Gently scrub it off while still waiting a bit; this serves as an exfoliation.
Wash then with lukewarm water.


Sandalwood and milk ubtan


Sandalwood is famous for its cooling and calming effects. It lightens discolorations and redness. In contrast, milk nourishes and softens the skin.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon sandalwood powder
Milk

How to use:
Take 1 tablespoon sandalwood powder.
Add sufficient milk so as to make a creamy paste.
Apply on the face and neck. Allow to dry on its own.
Rinse with lukewarm water for skin that is clear, refreshed, and healthy looking.


Turmeric and yogurt ubtan


An ubtan made with turmeric and yogurt is capable of healing and brightening the skin. Turmeric lightens and heals through its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, whereas yogurt's lactic acid gently exfoliates by removing dead skin and impurities.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoon Plain yogurt

How to use:
Mix 1 tbsp of turmeric powder with 2 tbsp of plain yogurt to form a thick paste.
Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for at least 20 minutes.
Rinse off


Neem and Tulsi ubtan


Ubtan ingredients are always carefully chosen to make the skin glowing and healthy; however, Neem and Tulsi Ubtan is famous for maximizing benefits.

Ingredients:
A handful of neem leaves
A handful of fresh tulsi (basil) leaves
1 tablespoon of multani mitti (fuller's earth)

How to use:
Crush the neem and tulsi leaves into a paste.
Add multani mitti to this paste.
Apply this ubtan on your skin for about 15-20 minutes until it dries out.
Wash off with lukewarm water.

1 tablespoon of neem powder

A teaspoon of lemon juice
Water

How to use:
Combine neem powder and multani mitti.
Add lemon juice and enough water to form a paste.
Apply, keep dry for 15 minutes, then rinse.

Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash with lukewarm water.
